Its not the best of the best but for that price to me it worth every bit of it. i havent put it down since, looking for every oppurtunity to pick it up. If you are ooking for a cam to have a bit of fun with friends and stuff for youtube plenty other little excitment then get it, for that price u cant go wrong. Anything else read the other reviews they have evrything i missed out, afteral those was the ones that made me make up my mind and i am stil smilling , thanx guys!!!
Video, stills, voice notes and editing software - complete - I have now bought 3 of these, one for myself and two for the business I work for. The question of what can it do- the answer is practically everything you could want from a camera. I paid £39.99 for mine. What s in the box - The camera, rechargeable battery, remote control, camera pouch, USB cable, AV cable, earbuds, foam earbud covers, CD (Drivers, editing software) quickstart guide, owners Manual, warrantee. You will need to purchase a 2 GB SD card. The cameras on board memory is minimal, just over a minute video, the card gives you ove 1200 still or 1 hour 30 minutes high quality MPEG 4 video. Cost me £3.50 each. The camera quality is very good. You turn it on by opening the LCD screen and off by closing the screen. The screen can turn and pivot every which way. The camera has a flash, macro and landscape modes, motion sensor (3 seconds movement to trigger the camera or lack of stop it in that mode) and you can select motion stabilisation, resolution etc.The quality is brilliant even in poor lighting conditions. What I was very pleased with was the Arcsoft edting software which allows you to produce videos with stills, add soundtracks, captions, voice overs etc to a very good standard.Very few niggles - the buttons take a little getting used to and it is relatively easy to have to selects the mode twice or take a video rather than a still but after 2 or three outings it gets easier. The flash is small and not fantastic and you can get bounce. It is difficukt to get the file conversion software to make a DVD. I think it can but I have struggled so far.For the price I paid, the 550 with the rechargeable battery this is a best buy!
For the price, you can t go wrong - I wanted to buy my first camcorder and found the DVR550 which had the features I needed at the right price. It looks right, is easy to use and comes with everything you need including an AV cable to connect the camcorder to your TV, earphones, carrying case and remote control. I have yet to try all its features out but I have used it to take pictures and recordings and it does the job well. So, in summary, for how much they re asking I can t find major fault with it.
Well worth the money. - This is a lovely looking piece of kit, nice to handle and smaller than I anticipated which makes the performance surprisingly good. I bought it because of the price and with no great expectations. The still pictures are much better than my 3.2 meg phone camera and stand up well to similar spec d still cameras. The video is about as good as you could expect for the price. You would not use it to take serious footage but as a holiday camcorder it is just the ticket. I bought a 2Gb SD card for less than £5 and although I recorded much of a 2 week holiday with the family it was all I needed. Its an outdoor camera and the video quality suffers in low light. The mic lacks some sensitivity and unless you have a bunch of people close to the camera playback sound is a little muted. Playing around with it for a weekend soon gave me confidence to use it on holiday. The screen is bright and has all the tech info you could need if you want it. All in all excellent value for money, just don t expect too much.
